To Infinity...And Beyond!

Standing in line at the post office yesterday, I was feeling proud that my first Christmas box was complete.  Stuffed with toys, candy and all kinds of Christmas delights, this first box of the season was getting ready to start it's long oversea's journey to Germany.

The last couple of days have been very chilly, especially for us coastal inhabitants who are used to a mild 40 degree winter.  With a tiny skiff of snow on the ground and ice-covered roads, I was feeling a bit of a nip in the air.  While waiting my turn in line, I shuffled around and stamped my feet to keep them warm.  The activity proved a bit much for the toy inside the box, which I had not been able to turn off before packing.  From the depths of Christmas wrapping and peppermint candies, a not-so-small voice was heard to say, "To infinity....and BEYOND!"

Oh, Buzz.  Quiet down.  You have a long way to go and I so hope that the people in customs have a sense of humour.  No, that noise is not a bomb.  It is only a small toy who thinks that he is a space ranger.  He's not.  Just a toy.

Please Mr. Postman, send him on to the small boy who is waiting for his Christmas package from his Grandma and Grandpa.
Thank you.

(Pop over to Mary's Writing Nook for a Christmas book swap.  Sign up's are until November 29th and you don't have to have a blog to join. Come on.  It's a fun little swap!)

That is so funny! I've had that happen to me when I was wrapping....I'm envious this morning to know you have a package mailed already...I usually have mine on its way by the first of November but not this year.
Blessings,
Mama Bear

LOL I can see Buzz acting up when he goes through customs, Paula. I sure hope he doesn't scare the Custom Officials to death.

If you'd like to participate in the Christmas book swap this year, I have the post up now. Hope all has been well for your family.

Blessings,
Mary

I can only imagine the smiles that will appear on many faces along the way when they hear Buzz's exclamation. And each one will think of the little boy who it is being delivered to and imagine the smile on his face on Christmas morning.
Your package will celebrate Christmas all the way to Germany!

I didn't know that you have family in Germany. Except for my Mom and my brother, all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, etc live in Germany. How lovely that you are sending a package! I can remember the joy of receiving packages from Germany from my grandparents every Christmas :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

That is so funny! Years ago my grandpa was sending all the grandkids Halloween flashlights ... and being the engineer he was - he put batteries in all of them and made sure they worked. WELL - he forgot to turn some of them off and on the way to the PO he heard a witch laughing a door creaking and a ghost whoosing - over and over and over. He turned the car around unwrapped everyone and took the batteries out! I can only imagine what would have happened in the PO with 8 flashlights going off from one package - ha ha! The workers might have jumped to 'infinity and beyond!'
