M is for Maple Tree

"Tree at my window, window tree-
My sash is lowered when night comes on;
But let there never be curtain drawn
Between you and me."
~Robert Frost
A beautiful red maple stands in our Secret Garden, providing shade on a sunny day and shelter on a rainy one.   Always this tree is full of bird-song, spring, summer, winter or fall.
A delightful area of our property, this part of the yard actually sits on the backside of our small fenced yard.  We live in a very lush, green part of the country so this time of the year, when all the wonderful bushes and tree's are full of leaves, you can not even see this area from the house.  It's a beautiful secluded area, perfect to sneak away for a few minutes with a good book and a glass of iced tea.

Won't you join me?

Pop over to Jennie's place for this weeks Alphabe-Thursday!

"Where you tend a rose, my lad, a thorn cannot grow."
~Frances Hodgson Burnett

How lovely to have a quiet space. I love maple trees; their leaves are so beautifully shaped and then in the autumn they set the world ablaze.

I wish I could join you. Being outside is always my favorite, especially when there is plenty of shade!

This is wonderful. I've been wanting to do a photograph meme using the alphabet. We have a Maple at the edge of our back porch and it hangs over most of that end of the porch and provides shade. I love it and hope it never has to be taken down. It isn't so wonderful when it sheds leaves in the Fall or those pesky seeds in the Spring but worth all the bother.

The shade of this tree must be wonderful in the summer.

We are so fortunate to have maple trees nearby. Our neighbors make maple syrup in early Spring and in the Fall, the woods are brilliant with color.

Astoria is one of my favorite places. I haven't been there in years and I think I need to rectify that...IMMEDIATELY!

What a charming link. We have no maple trees here in Arizona and they were always my favorite when I lived back east.

Thanks for a lovely memory of trees past!

And thanks for sharing.

This was a lovely stop.
