Be Happy...
I love this railroad crossing sign that sits beside the tracks on our riverwalk down by Mill Pond Village. Just a little reminder to be happy...
One of my childhood summer memories is walking along the tracks with my best friend Melissa, each of us with arms spread wide trying to balance as if we were walking the high wire in a circus. In our tiny little farming and mill community the trains rattled through several times a day and the tracks ran right through town in a couple of different spots. Summer time track walking brings back the golden August smell of the tall dry grass that grows along the tracks. We'd walk along, stalks waving from our mouths, giggling and laughing all the way. Melissa was always much more coordinated than I was, so she would usually be the winner of the farthest tightrope walker. Ah, to be 10 again, experiencing a small town summer. Melissa, I challenge you to a track walk once again. As you can see, I've been practicing....(heeheehee!)

OK. I'll have to start practicing. I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough anymore. I had forgotten about that, Paula. Thank you for the reminder.
Beautiful description of those moments we all have tucked somewhere deep inside, of our childhood. The many tightropes we walked......amazing we're still alive!
silly goose
Watch out for the Train!!!!
I love that sign! IF there were still a train (oh how I wish)... it would tell all the passengers, "Happy Place Ahead"!
Thinkin' of you a lot lately. I've been busy with all my stuff going on... hope all is great with you too!
Hey you!! I'm thinking about you and your move. I need details. heh...
And rumor has it there might be a Margarita craft night in the near future... let me know what works for you! :D
You took me back to good "track walkin'" memories Paula...what a great post and pics! Loved that sign! YES! Be HAPPY!
