Dreamy Smurf

I just heard on the news that today marks the 50th anniversary of those little blue creatures only 3 apple-seeds high, the Smurfs. I loved those little guys when I was a kid and had quite a few of the little plastic Smurf figures. I wish I knew where those went...
I had a bit of a crush on Dreamy Smurf who always had his head in the clouds and could take naps anytime and anywhere. I'm a bit like that myself. I can't help wondering, though, where my heart would have lain had there been a "Bad Boy Smurf". I can picture him, his long hair blowing in the wind as he drives his tiny little red mustang down the road, his guitar thrown carelessly in the back seat...

I love/loved the Smurfs! Even the word "smurf" I love. To me Papa Murphy's is Papa Smurfy's. There was also a Navy/Coast Guard neighborhood in the Bay Area with a high concentration of blue houses - and it was called "Smurf Village" (which has since been bulldozed).

I think you need to make a little Smurf outfit for Noah Bean. How cute would that be, especially since Noah is already way off the cuteness chart!

Oh Paula, You are so funny!!!
I would have never thought of having a crush on a smurf, but now that I think about it I would like to see Bad boy.
Dawn & I whent on a picture taking expedition this weekend & I saw some places where the little people live.

Oh, I am SO into "Bad Boys" too... though I married a really "Good" one. I also love extra large men, and married a really thin one. Oh well... anyway... YES, if there had been a "Bad Boy Smurf", I would have been all over him ... though the blue skin and the tights might have thrown me off.

I loved the smurfs so much too ... and if you give me your address off line again, I have a gift for you :)

Love,
Jodi

Significant history should never be forgotten! There used to be a sometimes unsettling little smurf who would pop up in the strangest places around the house, but I haven't seen him in some time now. Hmmm, I think it was shortly before your last visit, Paula . . .

WOW! I had no idea those little blue characters were THAT old! Wonder how that escaped me all these years. I thought they came about when my kids were small which would be less than 40 years then. Learn something new every day don't 'cha and you just taught me something here today!

I heard it was the Smurfs 50th birthday and I couldn't believe it! I can't possibly be that old. I remember when our kids were little and how they enjoyed the Smurfs. Once in awhile when travelling one of us still asks, "How much farther, Papa Smurf?"

Awww, I loved the Smurfs, too. I wish I knew what happened to the stuffed Smurfette I used to have.

I also used to have a button that said "I've been Smurfed!" but I think I put it in a geocache one time.
