Practical Magic Blog Party

Blood on the moon
Foretold that trouble was coming soon.

Sally woke to Gillians call;
raced off to save her sister once and for all.

Jimmy was an evil man-
What else could she do but
hit him with that frying pan?

Buried by moonlight-
daylights roses quite the sight.

Mom, Who's that man out in the yard?
Sally looked.
She squinted hard.

Jimmy's boots rose from the ground,
a frog perched upon his gravely mound.

The Practical Magic Blog Party is underway. (Follow the link to find other fun Practical Magic posts from many other fans of this great movie and book.)

I had such fun staging this little scene from the movie.  I ended up planting "Jimmy" under a rhododenrum bush, since my rosebush is in the side yard and our neighbors had a deck full of people.  I felt a little silly digging a hole and partway burying boots while half the town was watching me and wondering what the heck I was doing.  The tequila bottle may have given them a clue, but Jimmy ended up under the rhodie bush instead.

Last October I had written a Practical Magic post as well, with a video from the movie.  Click here to see that post.

Awesome set up! LOL the thought of you doing it while half the neighborhood watched made me laugh, even if it's only a thought. I can just see a little girl tugging on her mother's hand, "Mommy, is she trying to grow a boot tree?" I just know there's a line dancing joke in there somewhere!

Faith, trust, and faerie dust!

Love it! Even people who don't love the movie (are there any?) would think it's a great Halloween set up!

That is too funny! Makes me think of the Dixie Chick's song Goodbye Earl ... "those peas tasted ok to me ..."

I bet the neighbors have alot to talk about - no police visits yet? ;-)

I LOVE IT!! I think you should've buried the boots while the neighbors were watching and posted their reaction (I'm a little twisted that way, hee-hee). Thank you so much for being a part of our party and adding to the fun and magic!

This is so cool! I've never read this book or watched the movie. I should rent or get the book.
Did you neighbors call the cops when they saw this?
