Babies Babies Everywhere...

HOLY BUCKETS! We got another one of THOSE phone calls. This time from the oldest son, Sam and his wife Jes, expecting their little bundle of joy in October. That makes 3 grandbabies and one niece or nephew within 3 months of each other. Todd and Gidge, my brother and his wife, start it off with a squalling pink baby the end of July. Right on their heels arrives our first grandbaby, German born - Ryan and Natascha's little Ethan or Emily at the beginning of August. Brittany and Chris are next in line with tiny little Sophie or Kayden, followed by Sam and Jes' new addition to the Lone Star State. (all names subject to change right up to day of delivery!) Oh, and we absolutely can't forget little Stella, our friends Darren and Erin's first child, who's due to arrive the first of May. I've started making felted diaper bags, here is the first one with a tiny little lamb romping across the front pocket. The idea's are bouncing around in my head, diaper bags, bibs, blankies, hats, booties ---stop the madness!

I'm thinking that some type of baby contest with fun prizes will be in order for this blog this summer. Any fun idea's??

Oh, Paula! Congrats. Just think, they'll all be cousins together--close in age. That's so cool.

I'm loving your bag. Those are darling. I think those would really sell in your etsy store too! :D

I don't know about contests... but I think YOU deserve a "You're going to be a Grandma!" party!! :D

Wow! Lots of babies for sure.
You mentioned bibs - what kind do you make? I make bibs using fingertip towels (when I can find them) or sometimes, pretty patterned dishtowels (work great for toddlers) and cut a piece out of the towel and put in a neckline using cotten ribbed trim so the bib pulls over the head easily and covers up a big area on the baby/toddler then! They work great and are easy as pie to make too!

Did you hear that big thump? No, it wasn't our landslide... it was me falling out of my chair. I'm so in love with your latest bag. I MUST HAVE one so I hope you sell those in your Etsy shop!

Super de duper congratulations on your new grandbabies! I'm so happy and excited for you!

Oh! Oh! Oh! So much excitement!! I can't tnink of anything as far as contests go (yet), but I'd be happy to send out some handmade items to each of the babes. Who doesn't just love makin' stuff for babies??

WOW! This is gorgeous! I'm new to your blog (thanks for joining our swap by the way!) and I have to ask, did you knit it or did you make it from an old sweater? Either way, it's gorgeous!

Congrats on all the new additions! Spring is in the air. :)

Thank you, everybody, for your nice words! I'm really having a good time making these bags (and a good thing, since there's so many babies coming!) They are knit, then felted in the washing machine. What a lot of fun to see how much that wool shrinks up!

Might you ever do a tutorial on how to make those diaper bags? I just felted my first sweater from Goodwill last night, but that lamb on the front is too cute! (how DID you do that?) Just wondering. Diane - dcarlson11553@sbcglobal.net
