Grandma's In the Kitchen
Grandma's in the kitchen
acting kinda strange.
She's dressed in black
from head to toe
and wearing a pointy hat.
There's something boiling
on the stove.
Grandma's stirring it
with a great big spoon.
She's mumbling things
I can't quite hear
about eye of cod
and bloody chicken bones.
I'm peeking at her
from behind the door,
hoping she won't see.
Grandma's acting mighty weird.
I hope that stew's not for me.
A black cat I've never seen
is sitting beside her feet;
bats are circling outside the door,
a dog is howling down the street.
I think there's something I don't know
about my Grandma-Sweet.
She's getting ready for Halloween
and it's NOT just trick-or-treat!

What a great poem... Loved it!
I'm having a give away along with a bunch of others... come see..
Wow, have you got talent!
You should share it more!
Love the "Witch is in" sign!
I Love this post!
Did you paint the sign?
As they say "There is my sign"
That reminded me of a sign I saw the other day. It read, "You say wicked as if that were a bad thing." LOL
Happy Halloween!
Love,
Terri
I love the poem!
Blessings,

LOL How delightful. I love it. The imaging is great. I could see your Grandma standing at the stove stirring that pot with the cat by her feet.
You're welcome for the card and I'm glad you're enjoying it.
We only got a dusting of snow, so that is okay. It was all gone by the time I got up this morning. The sun is shining, but it is chilly out - a typical autumn day.
Take care, my friend.
Blessings,
Mary
Paula... I love this poem!!! My kids are so excited about trick or treating... they even broke the cones I bought to stick some candies, they taught it was just part of the package! :-) Have fun tomorrow!
Did I mention that I also love the picture???
Blessings!
Lacy
