Wonderful Smells...

Happy weekend before Thanksgiving! Wonderful smells are starting to come out of my kitchen in preparation for the Thanksgiving feast. I'm sure your kitchens are smelling just as divine. I thought I would share with you one of my favorite treats this time of year ~ Cranberry Chutney ~

Cranberry Chutney
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
12 oz. fresh or frozen Cranberries
1/2 cup Vinegar
1/2 cup Raisins
1/2 cup peeled, diced Apples
1/4 tsp. each Allspice, Ginger, Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. Cloves

Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Add remaining ingrediants; return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes or until apples are tender. Pour into a medium glass mixing bowl. Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on sauce. Cool to room temperature and refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend. Best if served at room temperature. Makes 2 1/2 cups.

Enjoy!

Goodness, what a beautiful platter! You've posted so many nice things since I visited last. Love the Raggedy Ann book and the mittens are wonderful.
I love chutney and just had some Silver Platter Mango Chutney on a turkey sandwich at lunch today. I've never made it before, but now I want to try. Thank you for the recipe!
